Asset balances rise with income and fall with expenses; liability balances (e.g. credit cards) rise with spending and fall when you pay them via a Transfer. These account balances now feed your Balance Sheet automatically (shown as *-marked rows there) — only add manual Balance Sheet lines for things not tracked as accounts, such as property or investments, to avoid double-counting.
